Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
The VLE is the name given to the school’s on-line learning intranet. As part of an on-going development of Computing skills, children have access to age appropriate and safe internet sites, in their everyday learning.
We also work with a number of external professional teaching resources to make sure that children benefit from the latest methods in this area, which is continuously being developed. Every parent signs the internet agreement with the school and we are very careful to make sure that children are kept safe as they learn what are now essential life skills in accessing, navigating and using online communications.
Every classroom uses interactive whiteboards and has class designated laptops. Children also have designated Computing curriculum resources selected by teachers including BeeBots for maths, Espresso – a curriculum and news resource in child friendly language, and Spellodrome, to help on a one to one basis with embedding spelling learning.
