Transition to Secondary School
An important part of our school mission is to develop pupils academically, socially, with good hearts and with a sensitivity to community/world issues. In this way, we will prepare them for their future education, wherever that may take them.
Common destinations of Mobberley pupils in recent years have been Knutsford High School and Wilmslow High School. We also have had pupils who have successfully attended (some with scholarships) King’s School, Macclesfield, Altrincham Boys School, Altrincham Girls School and Ellesmere College.
A series of ‘Taster’ sessions and themed days are usually arranged (although disrupted during the Pandemic) to allow pupils to become familiar with their new surroundings. Parent meetings are also arranged to give parents valuable information about the next stage of learning.
Staff from Mobberley and the school receiving pupils will meet to discuss individual pupils, their learning needs, academic strengths and any social considerations. We will also share appropriate Safeguarding information with those staff who are responsible for this area in the High School. This is done in a private and sensitive way, always with the dignity of the individual(s) in mind.
